Collection: Wall Lights
Wall lights are the underrated species of vintage lighting. They don't require floor space, they work with indirect light, and because they were usually installed in pairs, they often come onto the market in pairs, which is hard to replace for symmetrical situations next to a bed, a mirror, or a fireplace.
This selection features objects from the 1950s to the 1970s. From France, there are brass lamps with swivel arms that can be adjusted for reading chairs; from Belgium, a ceiling or wall lamp by Willy Daro for Massive; from Italy, a pair of Murano "Triedri" lamps in crystal glass and chrome in the tradition of Venini. In addition, there are German works in ice glass and in chrome with glass by Sölken.
A practical point in advance: vintage wall lights come with the electrics of their time. The description of each object states the condition of the wiring. For permanent installation in a living space, I generally recommend having the electrics checked by a specialist and, if necessary, renewed. This is easily possible with these lamps and does not alter their appearance.
