Ice glass wall lamp, Germany 1960s
Ice glass wall lamp, Germany 1960s
This 1960s wall lamp is of German production and made of textured ice glass. The typical rough surface of the glass, characterized by small icicle or fracture structures, gives the lamp a soft, slightly diffused light effect and is one of the defining materials of German lamp production of that era.
Ice glass was extensively used in the 1950s and 1960s by manufacturers such as Glashütte Limburg, Hustadt-Leuchten, and Peill & Putzler. It combines a calm, clear basic form with the lively texture of the material and complements Mid-Century furniture, wooden surfaces, and brass well.
The lamp is well suited for hallways, entrance areas, bedrooms, or as supplementary lighting in living rooms. It requires a bulb with an E14 socket; LED bulbs can also be used. It is in very good condition.
Dimensions: Height 24 cm, Width 13.5 cm, Depth 7.5 cm.
