Brass Flush Mount 12-Light Ceiling or Wall Lamp, Spiral Sciolari/Leola 1960s/70s

Brass Flush Mount 12-Light Ceiling or Wall Lamp, Spiral Sciolari/Leola 1960s/70s

A flat ceiling light made of polished brass, as it was used in Italian Space Age aesthetics of the late 1960s and early 1970s in residential halls, restaurants, and bars – twelve slightly curved brass arms run spirally, in a whirlwind-like rotation from a central cylindrical body and each end in a slender E14 candle socket with a spherical brass balance head. Its low profile makes it a particularly good choice for rooms where a classic, deeply hanging chandelier would be too much; above a round dining table, in an entrance hall, or as a focal point in a hallway, it fully unfolds its effect.

The diameter is 53 cm, the height is 19 cm; the lamp is mounted directly to the ceiling or wall and holds twelve E14 bulbs (not included), recommended with mirror-head bulbs for an atmospheric overall light. The design language – spiral arm arrangement, spherical socket ends, cylindrical canopy body – is the documented signature of the Sciolari/Leola cooperation between Rome and the German licensed producer Leola Leuchten; without a preserved factory label, it remains a stylistic attribution. The condition is good vintage condition with an even brass patina and functional electrics.
