Belgian Brass Ceiling or Wall Lamp by Willy Daro for Massive, 1970s

Belgian Brass Ceiling or Wall Lamp by Willy Daro for Massive, 1970s

This ceiling or wall light was designed in the 1970s by Willy Daro for the Belgian lighting manufacturer Massive. The lamp is a typical object of the so-called Hollywood Regency style, which was widespread during this period with its shiny brass surfaces and sculptural forms.

Willy Daro is one of the Belgian designers who significantly shaped European lighting design in the 1960s and 1970s. Characteristic are his sculptural brass works, often reminiscent of natural forms, which stand between functional lighting and design object.

The lamp can be mounted on both the ceiling and the wall and fits well in entrance areas, hallways, bedrooms or above small seating groups. Due to its compact height, it is also suitable for low rooms.

The lamp requires a light bulb with an E27 socket (E26 in the USA). It can be operated centrally via a light switch (also with dimmer) or via the integrated pull switch. The pull switch is built-in and can be used if desired. It is in good original vintage condition.

Dimensions: Diameter approx. 37 cm, height 12 cm (without bulb).
