Sölken Chrome Glass Wall Sconces, Germany 1970s

These 1970s wall lights were manufactured by the German company Sölken. The combination of chrome-plated metal and textured clear glass sphere is typical of German lighting production of this period, representing a calm, clear design language of the 1970s.

Sölken was a German lighting manufacturer that favored working with chrome, glass, and simple geometric basic forms during this phase. The textured glass sphere softly diffuses the light and gives the object a light, almost floating character, while the heavy build quality of the metal body is reminiscent of the solidity of this era.

The lamps are well suited in pairs next to a mirror, on a sideboard, in a hallway, in a bedroom, or as accent lighting in a mid-century or 1970s interior. Their restrained form also allows them to be integrated into modern rooms with individual vintage objects.
