Tito Agnoli "Sistina" Leather Chair for Matteo Grassi, 1980s

Tito Agnoli "Sistina" Leather Chair for Matteo Grassi, 1980s

"Sistina" leather chair in reddish-brown leather, designed by Tito Agnoli for Matteo Grassi, from the 1980s. The clear lines, the high-quality leather upholstery and the warm color patina make the piece a characteristic example of Italian design from this period.

Tito Agnoli (1931–2012) is one of the most influential Italian designers and architects of the post-war era. His furniture is known for its calm, precise formal language and a consistent preference for high-quality materials. The Matteo Grassi manufacturer, in turn, is internationally valued for its expertly crafted leather upholstery and has collaborated with leading Italian designers for decades.

The Sistina chair is in very good vintage condition and shows a beautiful, matured patina. The older and more used this type of furniture is, the more beautiful it becomes — the surface develops a depth that no new furniture can achieve. Suitable as a single piece at a desk, in a reading area or in combination with other design classics.

Dimensions: Height 80 cm, Width 44 cm, Depth 53 cm, Seat height 46 cm.
