Brass Wall Candle Holder Wave Shape "Serpentine", Germany, 1960s (Set of 2)

Brass Wall Candle Holder Wave Shape "Serpentine", Germany, 1960s (Set of 2)

An elegant pair of wall-mounted candle holders made of solid, continuously drawn brass in a curved wave shape ("Serpentine"): A single brass wire is bent into a flowing W-curve and ends in two conically tapered candle holders – two per holder, making four candle positions in total for the set. This wavy line construction for slim taper candles (candle diameter 12 mm) is a well-known design motif of Scandinavian-German Mid-Century design from the 1960s and was distributed, among others, by Illums Bolighus, Copenhagen, under the designation "Serpentine" – partly, as with several documented comparative pieces, made in Germany. The marking on the present object fits this perfectly: a punch with the lettering "GERMANY" and an additional small symbol stamp (manufacturer's mark) on the inside of an arch.

Dimensions per holder: H 15.5 cm x W 20.5 cm x D 20 cm. Candle diameter 12 mm.

Condition: excellent original condition with beautiful, age-appropriate patina on the brass – no visible bends, breaks, or repairs.

A versatile vintage design object: as a pair of wall-mounted candle holders in the hallway, by the fireplace, or in the dining room, a stylish eye-catcher for any Mid-Century interior, also interesting for collectors of Scandinavian-German post-war design.

Note on attribution: Without a complete signature (only "GERMANY" + symbol punch), this is an attribution based on form, proportions, and the 12 mm candle diameter typical for "Serpentine" models – not an unequivocally confirmed manufacturer's statement.
