Vintage Bamboo & Rattan Magazine Rack with Knot Decor, France 1960s

A decorative magazine rack made of bent bamboo and woven rattan/peddig, presumably France, 1960s. The body rests on four slightly curved legs and has a curved bamboo carrying handle. Between the two compartments sits an elaborately crafted, woven decorative panel of intertwined rattan loops in the typical knot/rococo decor, characteristic of handmade French and Italian rattan furniture from the Riviera era. The joints are traditionally wrapped with peddig.

Dimensions: H 54.5 cm x W 46.5 cm x D 24 cm.

Condition: very good condition, age-appropriate patina, no visible open breaks or loose bindings.
