Vintage bubble glass solifleur vase green – hand-blown, 1960s/70s

This mouth-blown solifleur vase made of vibrant green bubble glass is a characteristic piece of mid-century glass art from the 1960s and 1970s. Its spherical, thick-walled body transitions into a slender neck that opens into a wide, funnel-shaped rim. Thousands of fine air bubbles trapped within the glass make the green sparkle vibrantly in the light, giving the object a deep, almost kinetic effect.

The vase was free-blown by hand, as evidenced by the polished pontil mark on the base and the subtle swirl marks in the glass. The design language, color, and "bullicante" technique of controlled bubble inclusions point to the influence of Italian blown glass from Empoli and Murano, as well as West German glassworks of the same era. Since no signature, label, or engraving can be found, we deliberately refrain from making a definitive attribution, instead referring to its stylistic proximity.

With its slender, tall form, the vase is ideal for a single blossom, dried grasses, or simply as a standalone glass object on a sideboard, windowsill, or in a display case, where the light beautifully highlights the bubble structure. It combines well with other green vintage glassware or mid-century ceramics. The condition is very good; there are no visible chips, cracks, or fractures, only minimal signs of wear on the base consistent with age; the bubbles and slight irregularities in the glass are intentional features of the manufacturing technique. The dimensions are approximately 22 cm in height and 10 cm in diameter at the rim.
