Studio Pottery Miniature Vase — fluted body, black-bronze glaze, signed, 1970s

Small, hand-thrown studio pottery vase, probably from the 1970s, in a classically reduced workshop form: bulbous-oval body, short cylindrical neck with slightly protruding mouth, compact standing format. The entire vase body features a dense, intentionally emphasized ring-groove texture — the parallel turning grooves are not smoothed, but left as a handmade fingerprint and translated by the changing light along the surface into a fine rhythmic pattern. Over the grooves is a deep, midnight blue-black metallic glaze with pronounced bronze-gold reduction effects: on the ridges of the ribs, the glaze breaks into warm bronze highlights, while in the depressions it remains dark and dense — an interplay that visually enlivens the vase's small volume and makes the workshop firing's signature visible.

The format is small and intimate: height 10.3 cm and diameter 6.7 cm — perfect for a single bloom, a short dried flower stem, or as a standalone sculptural miniature on a console, a bookshelf, a bedside table, or in a display cabinet. The base of the vase bears a hand-incised potter's monogram in the soft clay (sgraffito into the unfired body), and the body shows on the unglazed base as a light cream-colored stoneware tone. The condition is very good, no visible chips, no hairline cracks, the glaze is completely intact. A characteristic workshop miniature from the artisan-driven studio pottery movement of the 60s/70s, where individual potter workshops in Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and the Netherlands consciously set their own signature and the signed individual piece against industrial series ceramics.
