Studio Pottery Miniature Vase — fluted body, black-bronze glaze, signed, 1970s

Small, hand-thrown studio pottery vase, probably from the 1970s, in a classically minimalist workshop form: bulbous-oval body, short cylindrical neck with a slightly flared mouth, compact standing format. The entire vase body features a dense, intentionally emphasized ring-groove texture – the parallel turning grooves are not smoothed but left as a craftsman's fingerprint, translated into a fine rhythmic pattern by the changing light along the surface. Over the grooves lies a deep midnight-blue-black metallic glaze with pronounced bronze-gold reduction effects: on the ridges, the glaze breaks into warm bronze highlights, while in the depressions it remains dark and dense – an interplay that visually enlivens the small volume of the vase and reveals the signature of the workshop firing.

The format is small and intimate: height 10.3 cm and diameter 6.7 cm – perfect for a single bloom, a short dried flower stem, or as a standalone sculptural miniature on a console, a row of books, a bedside table, or in a display cabinet. The base of the vase bears a hand-incised potter's monogram in the soft clay (sgraffito in the unfired shard); the shard is visible on the unglazed base as a light cream-colored stoneware tone. The condition is very good, no visible chips, no hairline cracks, the glaze is fully preserved. A characteristic workshop miniature from the craft-oriented studio pottery movement of the 60s/70s, in which individual potteries in Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and the Netherlands deliberately set their own signature and signed unique pieces against industrial mass-produced ceramics.
