Pierre Cardin for Simo - Foldable Bar Cart in White Plastic, Italy 1970s
Pierre Cardin for Simo - Foldable Bar Cart in White Plastic, Italy 1970s
A bar cart that folds down with a wave of the hand and slides flat into any niche: This was a small revolution in 1970. Pierre Cardin designed the concept, and it was produced by the Italian manufacturer Simo from food-grade plastic. The white tubular frame with its two removable trays, the raised handle, and the four castors resembles a stage for aperitivo – clear, bright, understated, yet confidently modern.
When unfolded, the cart measures approximately 78 cm in height, 58 cm in width, and 38 cm in depth; when folded, it shrinks to a wall depth of just a few centimeters and disappears behind a door or next to a sideboard. The embossing "For Aliments – Patented – Made in Italy" can be seen under the upper tray. Solid vintage condition, without damage; the castors run smoothly. A Space Age classic for those who love Italian flair with understatement.
