Peris Andreu Pair Wall Sconces Brass Cord Decor 60s

Two curved arms, shaped like twisted cords, converge in a massive knot, beneath which two tassels hang freely — the entire body is cast in brass and hand-chased, with polished highlights and a dark patina in the recesses. Above the knot, a rosette closes off the eyelet; at the ends of the arms are candle dishes with a beaded edge and acanthus wreaths, with drip candle sleeves above. Each lamp measures 41 cm in height, 27 cm in width, and 14 cm in depth and is fitted with two E14 sockets; the weight of the solid castings is immediately noticeable when lifted.

In Spain, Peris Andreu stood for elaborately cast brass lamps in the Louis XVI vocabulary, which found their place in the salons of the 1960s and 1970s — cord, knot, and tassel are the classic motifs of this workshop line. The condition of the pair is very good: no deformations, no missing parts, the casting and chasing details are fully preserved, the surface shows the grown patina of a well-maintained antique. As with all historical lamps, the usual inspection by a specialist is recommended before installation. Mounted in pairs on either side of a mirror or fireplace, the lamps unfold their full decorative effect.
