Peill & Putzler "Ice Cube" TA 14 Table Lamp on Aluminum Base, Germany 1970s

A true classic of German mid-century lighting: the "Ice Cube" table lamp TA 14 from the Peill & Putzler manufactory in Düren, designed in 1972 under the factory name "Lichtwürfel" (light cube). The compact crystal glass cube is clear and cut on all four sides, while the inner area is filled with an ice-crystal-like, frosted texture — when switched on, the light diffuses through this inner structure like through a glacier; when switched off, the cube looks like a piece of frozen water from a freezer compartment. The massive glass body sits on a brushed aluminum base, which elevates the sculpture by a few centimeters and enhances the lamp's architectural character.

The lamp measures 10 × 10 × 14.5 cm including the base and is in very good, chip- and crack-free vintage condition. The original round Peill-&-Putzler factory label is fully preserved and legible on the socket neck — a detail that elevates this example significantly above the unmarked market average and immediately verifies its origin. The electrics have been tested for functionality, with an E14 socket for a warm white 25 W incandescent bulb or a flicker-free 3–4 W LED. Recommended for final connection by a specialist. On a bedside table, sideboard, or desk, it acts as a subtle but unmistakable lighting accent.
