Murano glass shell, Italy 1960s
Murano glass shell, Italy 1960s
Impressive large bowl made of clear Murano glass with yellow inclusions, crafted in the shape of a scallop shell. The glass mass combines a clear, transparent basic structure with fine color inclusions, giving the bowl a vibrant depth and a distinct sculptural presence.
The design, in its formal language, is reminiscent of designs by Carlo Nason and stands in the tradition of Italian glass art of the 1960s, a period when Murano developed not only functional vessels but also pieces consciously understood as design objects. Natural forms such as shells, waves, or organic bowls are among the recurring motifs of this phase and can be found in the works of various manufacturers.
With its generous format, the bowl is very well suited as a central decorative object on a sideboard, a coffee table or a console and works well in both Mid-Century interiors and modern rooms with selected vintage objects. Excellent condition.
Dimensions: Height 14.5 cm, Width 35.5 cm, Depth 37 cm, Weight 2.4 kg.
