Rare Murano Table Lamp Pink Bullicante Barovier & Toso, 1950s
Enchanting 1950s Muranese table lamp in an unusually delicate old rose, crafted using the classic Bullicante technique, perfected by Barovier & Toso and Ercole Barovier on the island of Murano. The spherical glass body is structured by vertical melon ribbing, with thousands of controlled air bubbles rising in even rows in the spaces between them — each bubble pricked into the glowing glass mass, blown, and permanently enclosed in the second layer. This craftsmanship makes each piece unique and explains why authentic 1950s Bullicante objects are among the most coveted vintage Murano glass objects today.
The nickel-plated metal collar supports a height-adjustable harp and an E27 socket; the original vintage inline switch is still in the cable — both technically checked and functional. The pleated, cream-colored fabric shade with a fine border is also original to the lamp but can be easily replaced with a more contemporary shade if desired. Total height 54 cm, shade diameter 42 cm, glass body 23 cm in diameter — ideal proportions for a console, sideboard, or bedside table. Very good original condition across all components.
