Murano Sommerso Star Bowl — Cobalt & Uranium Green, six points, centerpiece 41.5 cm, 1960s/70s

Large Murano Sommerso centerpiece bowl in the classic six-pointed stella shape, hand-blown and free-form molded in one of the Murano island workshops during the 1960s to early 1970s. The three-layer Sommerso features a crystal-clear core, a radiant intermediate layer of chartreuse uranium green, and a deep cobalt blue casing, which condenses to an almost black-blue in the pulled tips and blossoms into a pure neon glow of uranium green in the core. All six tips are pulled from the still-soft glass mass in a single hot manipulation and annealed into fine points—with a diameter of 41.5 cm, this is a centerpiece format that is significantly larger than the usual 25–30 cm of Etsy goods and shows the hallmark of a high-end workshop. The height of 11.5 cm gives the bowl a generous hollow, the base fold is drawn together in a star shape and casts a sculptural prism pattern into the lower glass mass in glancing light.

The original Murano label is still intact in the bowl—an important proof of authenticity that adds value for collectors and unequivocally confirms its origin. Very good vintage condition: all six tips intact, no chips, no cracks, the Sommerso depth fully preserved, the surface shines in all its Italian craftsmanship. A centerpiece for the large dining table, fireplace mantel, or sideboard—a solitaire that organizes the interior around its luminous color core.
