Kinkeldey "Belvedere Kristall" Ceiling Lamp — Frosted Glass Spheres & Brass, 1960s/70s

Ceiling light from A. H. Kinkeldey in Bad Pyrmont, from the famous Belvedere Kristall model series, manufactured in the late 1960s to 1970s. The light features a dense cluster of satin frosted glass spheres around a satin glass tube in the center, which acts as a diffuser above the single E27 central socket. Each sphere is fixed with a polished brass ball nut to the white-lacquered metal frame — the characteristic Kinkeldey clamping system, which groups the spheres like a floating grape cluster around the center. The brass canopy and the central brass rod show the beautiful warm vintage patina of sixty years — not polished, but left with their original surface depth. When switched on, the light creates a very soft, evenly distributed warm light: the satin spheres break the light of the central E27 lamp (up to 100 W) into a diffused penumbra that fills rooms with a remarkably intimate, warm atmosphere.

Compact format with a diameter of 42 cm and a total height of 50 cm — a smaller version of the Belvedere Kristall series, ideal for the dining table, hallway, bedroom, a studio loft, or a cafe interior where the larger Kinkeldey formats would be too massive. Good to very good original condition: all spheres present and intact (the crucial value criterion for these cluster lights after six decades — reordering precisely calibrated Kinkeldey frosted spheres is practically impossible), the brass shows the typical warm patina, the lacquered metal frame is without significant paint loss, the central E27 socket is intact. A collectible piece of German post-war lighting history from the workshop that received the Design Prize International Forum Design Hannover in 1969 and whose Belvedere Kristall series is now among the most sought-after Kinkeldey models.
