Josef Frank Wall Mirror, Brass, 1950s

Josef Frank Wall Mirror, Brass, 1950s

Vintage wall mirror by Josef Frank from the 1950s. The mirror features Frank's characteristic brass frame with a decorative ribbon frieze, bringing an iconic element of Scandinavian Mid-Century design to your wall.

The design is by Josef Frank for Svenskt Tenn: a curved, sculptural metal frame that elegantly encloses the clear mirror surface and gives it a sculptural presence. Josef Frank (1885–1967) is considered one of the most influential designers of the 20th century and significantly shaped Swedish living through his long-standing work for Svenskt Tenn. Characteristic are his ornamental fabrics, organically shaped furniture, and metalwork with a calm, decorative elegance. The warm shimmering brass frame appears both decorative and timelessly modern, fitting very well with vintage furniture, Mid-Century pieces, or an eclectic mix.

The mirror is in good, age-appropriate vintage condition. The brass frame shows a developed patina with minor signs of wear, which emphasize its authentic character. The mirror surface has slight, age-related scratches and shadows, as is common with original pieces from this period. Immediately ready for use and to hang – a very beautiful 50s original.

Dimensions: Height 48 cm, width 36.5 cm.
