Holmegaard Glass Table Lamp, Hsin-Lung Lin, 1978
Holmegaard Glass Table Lamp, Hsin-Lung Lin, 1978
Rather rare model of a glass table lamp, designed by Hsin-Lung Lin for Holmegaard / Fyens Glasværk in Denmark, dated 1978. The body, made of hand-blown clear glass, shows the typical clarity of Danish glass art of this period and also represents the formally reduced language of late Space Age design.
Holmegaard is one of Denmark's most traditional glass manufacturers and collaborated with designers such as Per Lütken, Otto Brauer, and, in this later phase, Hsin-Lung Lin, in the 20th century. Clearly designed glass bodies, often intended as the base of a lamp and not just a mere support form, are characteristic of the company's design philosophy.
The lamp uses an E27 bulb; LED bulbs are also possible. The lampshade is new. The condition is very good, making the model an interesting collector's item for lovers of Danish design and Scandinavian glass art.
Dimensions: Height 75.5 cm, diameter 42 cm.
