Hillo Design Chromed Umbrella Stand, Denmark 1970s

Stylish chrome-plated umbrella stand from the 1970s by the Danish manufacturer Hillo Design. Its clean, almost austere shape is reminiscent of Art Deco and Bauhaus lines, making the object versatile – it can be combined with both classic interiors and modern spaces where individual vintage objects are deliberately used.

Umbrella stands of this type were consciously conceived in the 1970s as functional yet aesthetically independent objects. The chrome-plated metal gives the piece a cool, elegant effect while also ensuring a very robust, durable construction. Hillo Design stands in the tradition of Scandinavian metalworking from the second half of the century, combining functional home objects with clear, formally reduced designs.
