Hillo Design Chromed Umbrella Stand, Denmark 1970s

Stylish chrome-plated umbrella stand from the 1970s by Danish manufacturer Hillo Design. The clean, almost austere form is reminiscent of Art Deco and Bauhaus lines, making the object versatile – combinable with both classic interiors and modern spaces where individual vintage objects are intentionally used.

Umbrella stands of this type were deliberately conceived in the 1970s as functional yet distinctive design objects. The chrome-plated metal gives the piece a cool, elegant effect and at the same time ensures a very robust, durable construction. Hillo Design stands in the tradition of Scandinavian metal craftsmanship of the second half of the century, in which functional home objects were combined with clear, formally reduced designs.

The umbrella stand is very well suited for an entrance area, a hallway, or as an understated design object in a living room. Good to very good condition.
