Pair of Italian glass table lamps, mushroom shape, blue and white swirl, Murano style, 70s/80s

A pair of small Italian table lamps made of mouth-blown, multi-layered glass, crafted in Italy in the 1970s/1980s. Both lamps feature the classic mushroom shape with a tapered base, a wide-flaring foot, and a bell-shaped glass shade resting on top – a silhouette produced in large numbers during this period by Murano workshops and associated Italian glassworks.

The decor is characteristic: over a milky-white, satin-finished opal glass body, spiraling ribbons of cobalt and light blue are fused into the glass. The two lamps are handcrafted and therefore not identical – on one lamp, the blue swirl runs strongly across the shade, column, and foot, while on the second, the foot remains almost white, with the blue concentrated on the shade. These very differences are proof of their mouth-blown production. When switched on, the glass glows warm and even; the satin opal glass diffuses the light softly and glare-free, making the lamps functional as atmospheric bedside lighting or as decorative accent lighting on a sideboard, console, or desk.

Regarding attribution: There is no signature or paper label on the lamps. The toggle switch on the cord bears the stamp "MADE IN ITALY" with the specifications 2(1) 6(4)/250~T4 as well as IMQ and CE marks, which confirms their Italian manufacture. A definitive attribution to a specific manufacturer – such as Vetri Murano, Gambaro e Poggi, Vistosi, or A.V. Mazzega, whose mushroom lamps of this form are stylistically very similar – is not reliably possible without a mark, which is why we consciously refer to these as Murano-style or Italian glass production.

Technical details: Each lamp has an E14 socket, with a toggle switch on the cord, tested and functional.

Dimensions: each lamp approx. 25 cm high, approx. 15 cm in diameter.

Condition: very good. No chips, cracks, or fractures visible on the glass. Cables and switches slightly yellowed due to age, technically flawless.
