Fog & Mørup "Semi" Pendant Lamp Chrome Ø 70 cm, Bonderup & Thorup, 1960s
A classic that instantly places any room in a Danish designer era: the "Semi" pendant light, designed in 1967 by architects Claus Bonderup and Torsten Thorup for Fog & Mørup and constructed from two quarter-circles joined at the back. This version is the Semi Maxi in chrome-plated metal with a diameter of 70 cm – the largest and most sought-after variant of the series. The polished chrome surface reflects light and its surroundings, while the razor-sharp trumpet silhouette appears both monumental and weightless. The original Fog & Mørup factory label inside the shade and the original metal canopy are present and document its origin from the early production phase.
The lamp measures Ø 70 cm with a total height of 110 cm including cable and canopy. It hangs best freely over a dining table, a generous sideboard, or as a solitaire in a high room, where the trumpet shape can unfold its full sculptural effect. The condition is good with age-appropriate signs of use, the chrome is intact and shiny, and the original socket is firm. Electrics are functional; a check and possibly rewiring by a qualified electrician is recommended before use, as with all vintage lamps of this era.
