Scandinavian craftsmanship in its purest form: This large teak bowl from the Danish manufacturer Digsmed in Langå shows why the company was one of the most sought-after addresses for high-quality home accessories in the 1960s. Vertically glued teak staves create a rich, constructively visible rim with shimmering wood tones between honey-colored and reddish-brown. The wide, architecturally profiled rim is a typical Digsmed signature and gives the bowl its sculptural presence.

With a diameter of 36 cm and a height of 13.5 cm, it is one of the larger items in the range — suitable as a fruit bowl on the dining table, a salad bowl for a large gathering, or a calm centerpiece on a chest of drawers. The inside bears the burned-in manufacturer's mark "Digsmed Danmark" with the characteristic Viking helmet logo. Condition very good, patinated surface, no cracks. A collector's item for all who appreciate Danish design in its most material-honest form.
