Cosack Sputnik Wall or Ceiling Lamp, 1960s

A distinctive Sputnik model by the German manufacturer Cosack Leuchten from the 1960s, executed in brass and designed for wall or ceiling mounting. With its ring of lights distributed on two levels, the lamp iconically represents Mid-Century lighting design and the Sputnik vocabulary of that period.

Cosack Leuchten is one of the German manufacturers that developed its own vocabulary in European lighting design from the 1950s onwards with brass and glass luminaires. The Sputnik shape, with its radially outward-leading arms, was created based on the space theme of the late 1950s and 1960s and is particularly valued today by collectors of this style.

The lamp works with 12 light bulbs with E14 sockets; LED bulbs are also possible. Installation is straightforward, and it can be used as both a ceiling and a wall lamp. The condition is very good for an original vintage item.
