Bohemian Tango Glass Vase, yellow with pink-violet inclusions and network of veins, 1920s

A small trumpet vase made of satin Tango glass, that characteristic Bohemian Art Deco technique of the 1920s, in which a warm yellow background is covered with irregular, cloudy, flowing color fusions in pink and violet and then overlaid with a fine, spiderweb-like vein network in dark brown. The body is classically divided into two parts: a cylindrical, slightly bulbous base supports a slender neck that widens upwards into a funnel shape with a slightly irregular, organically flowing rim. The color distribution is unique on each piece — here, the strongest pink-violet clouds are concentrated at the transition between the base and the neck and extend as fine veins up to the rim. This technique was mainly produced by Franz Welz and in the vicinity of the Kralik glassworks (among others Ernst Steinwald, Tomschick) in Northern Bohemia and is still a sought-after collecting area of Bohemian Art Deco.

With a compact format of 12.5 cm height and a mouth diameter of 6 cm, the vase is a miniature solitaire for a shelf, windowsill, or display cabinet — equally charming as a single-flower vase or as a pure collector's item. The condition is very good, the satin surface flawless, no chips or cracks.
