Bohemian Tango Glass Vase, yellow with pink-violet inclusions and network of veins, 1920s

A small trumpet vase made of satin Tango glass, a characteristic Bohemian Art Deco technique from the 1920s, in which a warm yellow base is covered with irregular, cloudy, intertwining color inclusions in pink and violet, and then overlaid with a fine, spiderweb-like network of veins in dark brown. The body is classically divided into two parts: a cylindrical, slightly bulging base supports a slender neck that widens conically upwards with a slightly irregular, organically flowing rim. The color distribution is unique to each piece – here, the most intense pink-violet clouds concentrate at the transition between the base and the neck and extend upwards as fine veins to the rim. This technique was primarily produced by Franz Welz and in the vicinity of the Kralik glassworks (including Ernst Steinwald, Tomschick) in Northern Bohemia and remains a sought-after collecting area of Bohemian Art Deco to this day.

With a compact format of 12.5 cm height and a mouth diameter of 6 cm, the vase is a miniature solitaire for a shelf, windowsill, or display cabinet – as charming as a single-flower vase as it is a pure collector's item. The condition is very good, the satin surface flawless, no chips or cracks.
