Bohemian Art Nouveau trumpet vase, satin glass with thread overlay and floral appliqués

A trumpet vase made of satinized, warm yellowish-tinted glass with an iridescent rim, applied thread-thin glass tendrils, and three small, plastically applied flower or leaf buds. The body is crafted in the classic fanfare shape of Bohemian Art Nouveau glass: a high, bulging foot ring, a slender cylindrical shaft, and a wide-open, trumpet-shaped mouth with a gently wavy, triple-scalloped rim. Freely modeled glass threads run across the matte surface in loose, organic movement around the vase body and integrate the small applications like delicate tendrils into the surface – a technique characteristic of Bohemian glassworks around 1900, which experimented with free thread application on a matted ground.

With a height of 21 cm and a mouth diameter of 16.5 cm, the vase is present without dominating the space – it works as a solitaire on a mantelpiece, in a display cabinet, or on a secretary. In glancing light, the matte surface shimmers between delicate ivory and a warm yellowish glow, while the rim shows a fine mother-of-pearl-like iridescence. A partially preserved label remnant is present on the object. The condition is very good, the matte satin finish undisturbed, no chips or cracks.
