Flower stand / Plant stand, gilded metal, blossom shape, Hans Kögl style, Italy, 1960s

A decorative flower or plant stand made of gilded metal (so-called "Florentine" technique – gilded, partly painted sheet iron), crafted in the shape of a large, opening bloom with a surrounding wreath of leaves and an additional, smaller three-dimensional bloom with leaves in the middle of the stem. The stand rests on a curved tripod base with scrolled feet and is designed to hold a flowerpot or vase – the inner diameter of the upper bloom is 24 cm.

The three-dimensional blooms and foliage, as well as the curved scrolled feet, are characteristic of the "Florentine style" in the Hollywood Regency taste, as manufactured and distributed by Hans Kögl in the 1960s/70s, among others. Production in Italy is also plausible given the craftsmanship.

Condition: good, age-appropriate vintage condition with charming signs of use on the gilding – partial discolouration and slight chipping of the gold paint (especially visible on the back) are typical for the "Florentine" technique and emphasize the authentic vintage character. Stable and sturdy construction.
