Björn Wiinblad "Head" Candlestick for Rosenthal, 1970s

Björn Wiinblad "Head" Candlestick for Rosenthal, 1970s

Distinctive candlestick from the "Head" series by Björn Wiinblad for Rosenthal, made in the 1970s. The unmistakable face shape and high-quality ceramic craftsmanship make this piece a clearly recognizable classic of Scandinavian design.

Björn Wiinblad (1918–2006) is one of the most famous Danish artists and designers of the 20th century. His characteristic graphic imagery with faces, figures, and floral motifs has influenced numerous manufacturers for decades — in addition to his own studio in Kongens Lyngby, he is particularly known for his collaboration with Rosenthal, for whom he designed a wide range of dinnerware, vases, sculptures, and decorative objects starting in the 1950s. The "Head" series is one of Wiinblad's iconic motifs and is now highly sought after by collectors internationally.

The candlestick is suitable as a standalone decorative object on sideboards, consoles, or dining tables and also complements any collection of Scandinavian ceramics or Rosenthal design pieces. Very good condition — a timeless accessory for lovers of vintage design and 20th-century artist ceramics.
