Ashtray set with holder, attributed to Walter Bosse, 1960s
This ashtray set from the 1960s is in the design language of Walter Bosse. Walter Bosse (1904–1979) was an Austrian designer and sculptor whose small bronze and brass objects, often featuring animal and everyday motifs, are now among the sought-after collector's items of Austrian design.
The set consists of several ashtrays and a holder that functionally and decoratively brings the individual bowls together. The geometric basic shape and the clear composition of bowls and stand make the object both practical to use and a subtle design accent on a table, sideboard, or console.
Due to its understated form, the set can be easily combined with Mid-Century furniture, brass objects, or other small vintage pieces. Even regardless of its original function, it is suitable as a storage object for small items such as keys, coins, or jewelry.
