The Romanian porcelain manufactory S.C. Apulum S.A. was founded in 1970 in Alba Iulia and quickly developed into Romania's largest porcelain manufacturer and one of Europe's most important exporters. The name refers to the ancient history of the city: Alba Iulia was called Apulum in Roman times and was the capital of the province Dacia Apulensis — a tradition that the manufactory has consciously incorporated into its brand identity.

This table lamp dates from the early production phase of the 1970s and is designed in the classic Rococo style. The body, made of white fine porcelain, features the swinging contours and plastically crafted reliefs typical of the era. A characteristic decoration is the finely modeled rose petals made of porcelain, delicately colored in pink — applied by hand, three-dimensionally worked out from the body and arranged with the playfulness typical of Rococo porcelain. The marking "lucru manual" — Romanian for "handmade" — confirms the workshop-based execution beyond pure series production. The lamp bears the documented Apulum mark on its base.

With an overall height of 45 centimeters and a shade diameter of 22 centimeters, the lamp has the proportions of a classic table and accent light. It is suitable for a desk, console, sideboard or side table and is most effective in classical, mixed or deliberately eclectic interiors.

Very good condition without damage. The wiring is in its original 1970s condition, the lamp is fully functional — one of the product photos shows it switched on. A documented piece of Romanian porcelain history from the heyday of European porcelain production.
