Aldo Tura bowl / ashtray with brass insert, lacquered goatskin, Italy 1960s

Flat, ring-shaped bowl by Aldo Tura, Milan, Italy, 1960s. The solid wooden body is covered in lacquered goatskin (parchment) — that characteristic surface for which Tura became famous: warm honey-yellow with a vibrant, almost marbled texture and a deep high-gloss finish.

There is a removable brass insert in the opening. With the insert, the object serves as an ashtray or a small tray for keys, watches, and jewelry; without the insert, it reveals a simple wooden-finished bowl — two functions in one piece.

Marking: The original paper label "TURA — made in Italy" is located on the inside base, along with the remnants of a second label.

Dimensions: Height approx. 7.5 cm, diameter approx. 19.5 cm.

Condition: Very good condition. No breaks or chips in the lacquer layer. The brass insert shows a fine, developed patina; slight signs of age and use are typical features for pieces of this era.
