wolfgang-posse-kunstdruck-abstraktes-stillleben-gold-handsigniert
Wolfgang Posse Art Print, Abstract Still Life in Gold, Hand-Signed

This offset print reproduces a work by the Nuremberg painter Wolfgang Posse (1933–2017) and is hand-signed in pencil below the image, while the printed signature „Posse“ also appears in the lower right corner of the picture. The square composition shows an abstracted still life of bowls, spheres and fruit arranged in circling orbits above a grid of rectangular colour fields. Ochre, gold and honey yellow dominate the picture, accented by vivid red, rust brown, deep aubergine and a single ultramarine field. The original shows Posse's characteristic manner of layered, translucent glazes and shimmering gold surfaces, rendered in the print as a warm, finely textured surface. Judging by the printed image and surface, it is an offset print after an original.

Wolfgang Posse was born in 1933 in Böhringen, Saxony, trained as a decorative painter and attended the gilders' school in Waldheim before studying stage design and painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg from 1953 to 1960. From 1960 he worked as a freelance artist in Nuremberg, from 1972 to 2012 in Tennenlohe and finally in Igensdorf. He became known above all for silver etching, a lengthy process in which he applied pure, translucent glazes onto a silver ground. Alongside this, Posse issued selected motifs as prints which he signed personally by hand. His works can be found in churches, hospitals, corporate collections and private ownership.

The image measures 18 x 18 cm and sits with a narrow white margin in a wide cream mat with a gold bevelled edge, the dark wooden frame with silver-gold inner moulding measures 51 x 52 cm (W x H). The back is sealed with paper tape and bears the stamp of the Egger framing workshop in Merano, South Tyrol. This is a hand-signed offset print, not a unique work. It is in good vintage condition with light, age-related signs of wear to the frame. A generously framed wall piece in warm gold tones that gives mid-century and vintage interiors a calm, luminous accent.

https://artfillsspace.com/en/products/wolfgang-posse-kunstdruck-abstraktes-stillleben-gold-handsigniert
