Dining chair model 206, designed by the Danish architect Thomas Harlev for Farstrup Møbler and made in Denmark in the 1960s. For Farstrup, Harlev created a whole family of seating, including models 205, 206, 210 and 213, which are today sought-after classics of Danish Mid-Century design. Model 206 is easy to recognise by its construction: the rear legs continue upwards beyond the seat, and the wide, curved backrest rests on them and wraps around their ends, cradling the back like a shallow shell.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe teak frame stands on slender legs that taper towards the floor and are joined by aprons and a cross stretcher. The backrest is moulded plywood, showing a lively teak grain on the front and the light wood of the laminate on the reverse. The upholstered seat is covered in black faux leather, a calm contrast to the warm tone of the teak. With their generous seat, the chairs work well as a desk chair or as an addition to a dining table already set with Danish teak chairs.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEach chair measures 78 cm in height, 55 cm in width and 55 cm in depth, with a seat height of 44 cm. Both chairs are in good to very good condition.
